Slovenia - Croatia with a seaside holiday

Day 1

Flight Riga - Ljubljana (Slovenia) ~ 11:45-13:00

Transfer to Croatia to the island of Krk.

Malinska is located in a bay on the west coast of the island of Krk. The surrounding pine forests provide pleasant coolness and protection from the sun, the surrounding area is interesting for walking and the cleanliness of the beaches is certified by the Blue Flags.

A pleasant holiday awaits you to catch the Croatian wave, enjoy the atmosphere of a southern resort town, swim in the clear Adriatic Sea, bask in the warm sun, have a delicious dinner and go to bed.

Day 2

On a trip to the largest and most beautiful Kvarner Bay island of Krk.

For some, Krk is an island of gold, for others an oasis of green. Both are right in their feelings. The former appreciate the island's tourism assets, while the latter are more concerned with nature and the green environment.

The most important town on the island is the eponymous Krka, which literally enchants with its narrow and lively streets where the Romans once walked, its cosy Venetian courtyards, its flower-filled windows and its picturesque promenade where you can buy all sorts of souvenirs. The city is rich in various historical Greek and Roman monuments. However, although Krka is proud of its rich history, it is also a very lively and fun city. It has such a variety of shops, good fish restaurants, and of course, you must try the local Sladoled homemade ice cream!

After exploring the town of Krk, we continue to the historic Baska town, whose well-equipped beaches are considered among the most beautiful and popular on the island. We'll see for ourselves when we stop for about two hours to swim and relax in the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

After a rest, we head to the picturesque Vrbnik town, which sits on a 50-metre-high cliff. It is one of the best-preserved fortress towns in Croatia. The historic part of the town is like a labyrinth and is incredibly beautiful! Vrbnik has the narrowest street in the world and is even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. The street is only 60 cm wide and you can definitely try to walk through it. The aroma of Mediterranean herbs is all around...

Besides its architectural treasures, Vrbnik is also famous for its wonderful white wine, Vrbnička şlahtina, made from a special local grape variety. The word Ŝlahtina translates from Croatian as 'noble', and the character of this wine is entirely in keeping with this description. Tasting of the wine and a famous local brandy is available on request.

Return to your apartment after a rich sightseeing tour.

Day 3

On an excursion to the Istrian peninsula, visiting local towns - Rovinj and Poreč.

The tour starts in one of Croatia's most romantic and Italian cities - Rovinj. Its architecture, the lifestyle of the locals, the atmosphere of the streets are so reminiscent of Southern Italy. It is a city that is best described as fabulous! This is its architecture, which has left its mark on the styles of all the different eras that Rovinj has experienced. The climate is equally fabulous - mild, as befits a Mediterranean town. The coastline is incredibly beautiful, adorned with pearls of islands. All this will remain a vivid memory for anyone who has spent even a moment in Rovinj. It is no coincidence that the world-famous science fiction writer Jules Verne once chose Rovinj as the setting for his works.

Poreč.

Along the coast, there is a seafront with views of the nearby islands. Poreč is very interesting in terms of architecture, the main streets are built in the classical Roman style and at their intersection is one of the most beautiful squares - Marafor. Many religious buildings have been preserved in the area, the most famous of which is the Basilica of St. Ephrazius. The halls of the Basilica are decorated with a magnificent Byzantine mosaic, which has become a world heritage site.

Finally, return to your apartment.

Day 4

Free day for relaxing by the sea.

Day 5

Free day or, if you wish, we can offer you (for an additional fee of 60 €) an exciting boat trip and fish picnic. During the trip, we will sail through Kvarner Bay, where we will pass under the most famous bridge connecting the island of Krk to the mainland.

Drop anchor in one of the bay's scenic shoreline spots to sample freshly prepared fish dishes at a local seafront restaurant. Throughout the day, the hospitable skipper will treat everyone to local wine.

Day 6

Free day or optional (extra charge 50 €) Croatian National Park - Plitvice Lakes

You can spend another wonderful day by the sea or, if you wish, go on an excursion to one of the largest (296.85 km2) and oldest parks in Croatia (founded in 1949), the famous and romantic Croatian National Park - Lake Plitvice (entrance tickets must be purchased separately, rising. ~ 40 €, children from 7 to 18 years ~ 20 €). It is a world heritage site on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, rainbows in all the colours of the sky adorn the landscape, created by countless waterfalls of different sizes. The clear waters of the 16 lakes are home to large fish that are not at all afraid of visitors and wait for them to feed them bread - eating almost out of hand! The phenomenon of the National Park is the interconnected lakes with waterfalls, surrounded by special limestone. The water of the lakes is also saturated with lime, and every leaf that falls here keeps its shape.

Plitvice's lakes are surrounded by stands of beech and spruce trees, and the adjacent forests resemble a taiga, where many animals, such as brown bears - which have even become a symbol of Plitvice - feel at home. If you want to preserve the memories of a beautiful day spent by the Plitvice Lakes, you should buy a souvenir in the shape of a brown bear. It should be noted that this place is visited by millions of tourists every year.

Finally, return to your apartment.
