The tour starts in Cusco - A Peruvian city with more than 3000 years of history. Cusco was once the capital of the Inca Empire and its name translates from the local language as "navel of the earth".

The Urubamba Valley, formed by the Urubamba River in the Andes, is a place with more than a thousand years of history. It is one of South America's most famous and visited places, attracting millions of tourists every year. The valley was the spiritual and economic centre of the Inca Empire and many important monuments of civilisation have been preserved here.

The valley stretches along the river bed and offers sights such as the ruins of Pisak Fortress (3000 m above sea level), surrounded by the majestic peaks of Sauasirai (5818 m) and Veronica (5893 m). Other notable sites include the Ollantaytambo Fortress (2800 m) and the impressive Moray Ring Terraces, reflecting Inca agricultural innovation.

On the way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visit a llama and alpaca breeding centre. Here you will have the opportunity to meet these unique mountain animals, learn about their role in the local culture and watch the wool spinning process. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to have your photo taken with these animals.

Day 7

Breakfast.

Transfer by train (extra charge 170 € return + return shuttle) to The town of Agvascalientes, known for its numerous hot springs, which have given it the name "aguas calientes" (Spanish for "hot springs"). It is the closest settlement to the legendary monument of the Inca civilisation Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and an ancient city located at an altitude of 2,430 metres above sea level. This legendary site was built in the 15th century, but remained hidden from the outside world for a long time until 1911, when it was discovered by the scientist Hiram Bingham.

Machu Picchu is a unique place where history, nature, spirituality and human achievements intertwine. The city walls offer breathtaking views of the Urubamba River valley and the surrounding verdant peaks of the Andes. Time seems to have stood still here, where the greatness of Inca civilisation is preserved among the stone terraces, temple complexes, towers and plazas that served as religious and astronomical centres.

The stone tablets of Machu Picchu hold secrets and stories about the ancient Inca culture. The architecture is striking in its precision - the walls are built without mortar, the stones fitting together perfectly. The site is shrouded in myths and legends that to this day have not been fully revealed.

Machu Picchu is not only an archaeological monument, but also a place to contemplate and feel a connection with antiquity. It offers peace, inspiration and a chance to feel part of the power and magic of Inca culture. A tour of the site is a journey through time and into the soul, revealing the secrets of the Inca world.

After the tour, return by train.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

Breakfast.

On the way we will visit Oljantaitambo - one of the best-preserved Inca heritage sites, at an altitude of 2 800 metres. Built in the 15th century under the ruler Pachacuteca, this settlement was an important administrative, military and religious centre, as well as a strategic fortress. At the top of Oljantaitambo is the impressive Temple of the Sun, whose walls are made of huge monoliths weighing tens of tonnes.

Next, we will visit the Mara Round Terraces and the Mara Salt Fields, two unique sites that combine Inca engineering skills with the natural beauty of the Andes.

The terraces of Mora were a kind of “agricultural laboratory” where the Incas experimented with growing different plants. Here, the temperature difference between the upper and lower terraces can reach up to 15°C, creating optimal conditions for different crops.

The Mara salt fields, which are still in use today, are a complex of thousands of small pools where salt is extracted from spring waters in the warmth of the sun. This handiwork of nature and man creates a breathtaking landscape that fascinates every visitor.

The main attraction of the tour is Coriander - A temple dedicated to the sun god, it was the main religious centre of the Inca Empire. In ancient times, golden plaques covered the walls of Korikancha and gold and silver statues decorated the courtyard.
